Because our messaging servers do only one thing, there is less chance of any incompatibilities that can cause downtime. Downtime to you, our customer, means loss of productivity so we strive to keep our messaging servers up 99.99% outside of normal maintenance. Our messaging servers offer anti-virus and anti-spam filtering. Our philosophy on SPAM has always been to detect and "tag", not to block/remove. What this means is, if one of our anti-spam engines detects a SPAM email, it will "tag" (append) [SPAM] to the subject line. We've just always felt that it's better to NOT potentially delete or hold-up delivery of any important emails. Our anti-spam detection engines have been tuned and are pretty reliable at detecting spam thus allowing the client software to create a rule to place [SPAM] messages to a folder for later viewing. This at least keeps the Inbox a little cleaner. We also offer each individual email user the ability to create his/her own blacklist (denied) and whitelist (allow). A blacklist entry will stop any message from a particular email address at the front door of the server. You can knock, but you can't come in... :) A whitelist entry will bypass all anti-spam engines allowing ALL emails from a particular email address to enter. Each list is easily managed through a web interface. Lastly, we offer a very user-friendly web interface to your email for those of you that prefer not to use an email client application or for when you're away from the office and would like to check your email. Auto responders, Forwarding, Client rules (only applicable when using the web interface) and Server rules can all be managed from the web interface. |
